Three Casino Court

Born out of our love for the aesthetic of shipping container design, Three Casino was an existing ranch style bungalow, that we stripped down to the bones, and build back up. What was once a hodgepodge of choppy, partitioned space, with 8’ ceilings on the main and basement floors, would come to be the textbook definition of a bungaloft.

The wide open spaces that now are the central fixture of the interior space, coupled with 11’ ceilings, and the signature use of white epoxy flooring and white walls give the sense of a large, open and never ending space. No easy task when considering the floor plate was just over 1,000 sq ft.

We decided to design the exterior of the house to resemble a shipping container. To that end, an actual shipping container door was purchased from our friends at Giant Containers, and modified to suit the existing door frame. In order to have it ready for a residential assembly, the back of the door was taken off and filled with spray foam insulation to keep the heat in, and cold out during the long Canadian winters, and vice versa.

Continuing our pattern of commercializing our residential edifices, the inspiration for the design of the interior was borrowed from past projects, essentially duplicating the art gallery feel that Progressive Bungalow has become synonymous with in the design build sphere.
